The Riley

This old mechanics warehouse was reimagined with new internal floors to suit a residential conversion. A vertical light well, the full height of the building, enables natural light to flood through and enter all levels. The effect is an open flow of light and space whilst respecting the original character of the building. The interpretation of the building’s history was essential in celebrating the old charm of the warehouse. Retaining the old shell, steel-frame hopper windows replace the original timber double-hung windows, and a striking Molteni kitchen is paired with a black and white colour scheme. What results is an inviting space perfect for the urban lifestyle of Darlinghurst.
