Built in 1887 as a wool store, this building is a State listed heritage item. It is internally linked to adjoining terrace houses and now operates as an intimate boutique Hotel. The project included a reassessment of the way the Hotel interacted with the customer and passers-by. Replanning of the ground floor resulted in improved visual presence to street with a wine bar that also operates as reception. We were also able to create two new hotel suites, an internal courtyard and a charming restaurant that opens into an historic back alley of The Rocks.

The interiors are characterised by an unveiling of the original architectural features. Brickwork and sandstone that had previously been covered have been revealed and left unfinished. The interior lighting was designed to create a candle-like glow throughout the spaces that refers to how it might have been originally seen as an historic storage building.
