The lobby and common areas for this commercial building in AMP Capital’s Quay Quarter precinct continues the concept and design language expressed in the residential apartments, lobby and common areas.

The unusual site constraints were highlighted with a double height curved vaulted ceiling juxtaposed against the adjacent single height scalloped ceiling. Dark, moody materials and lighting in these transitional spaces open to light and tactile finishes revealing a range of different experiences as you move throughout the interiors. The palette of rich textured brick, bevelled lift details and sculptural ceiling draws to the themes of depth and solidity into a more intimate scale. Many of the broken bricks from the building’s façade that would otherwise have been deemed defective were incorporated into the lobby interior adding a handmade quality to the finish.
